Orange shirts

I have to remind myself each day why I like my job.
Looking back I know I will have loved this experience, but sometimes I get pushed around and feel like crap. My work is not always used and when I do something, it is not appreciated and I have to go do it again.
buuuut....
The end of the semester is slowly creeping up on us and after that I will not have my wonderful campus photog job anymore.

When I calm myself down after all the pictures I slowly come to realize how extra-ordinary these individuals are. They sacrifice so much of their time to serve as counsel members on teams. They are so fun and smart and all-around amazing people. I have so much respect for all of them and I am so honored to get to take their pictures.
I remember the first few months of my job and how lost I felt. I didn't know anyone and I didn't know what the purpose of their service was. Now I understand all the effort and excitement they put into their positions because they truly love it and want to help others.

I had a lot of fun photographing in a studio today! The guy in-charge of the studio helped me out with camera/flash stuff and it was such a blast. He told my boss that I know what I am doing (bossing around models and talking camera talk with him). That made me feel good and I think it was good for my boss to hear. :)
Tomorrow is this HUGE photo shoot of every. single. person. from. the. department. at 2pm in the icenter!
Pray for me!

Hope your day was fab-

Our Love Story

Kent and I sat down and created this to enter into a contest for a free wedding shoot. Sadly, we were not chosen as a finalist, but here is the story any way because I think it's pretty cute ;)

Our Love Story – Kent Buys and Anna Freeby
9/10/10 She Saw Him in Math Class – As students at BYU-Idaho we had a math class together and saw each other for the first time. I thought he was cute and he kept getting me mixed up with another girl.

1/10/11 They Met in Family Home Evening – That next winter we were assigned to the same family home evening group in our ward. We became good friends through game nights and late night taco bell runs. With about a month left of the semester, we realized we both had feelings for each other.

3/9/11 Country Dancing First Date – After talking about wanting to go for a while, I finally asked her to go Country Dancing via text message. I stepped on Anna’s toes the whole night due to my lack of experience. Besides that we had such a blast in our button-up shirts and belt buckles.

3/13/11 He kissed her – After spending all Sunday side by side, we found ourselves talking, laughing and getting to know each other. We went on a walk around Porter Park and then he took me to his house. We sat on the couch watching Madagascar 2, when he asked me, “Can I kiss you?” and I of course said yes.
On 4/6/2011 Anna went back to Kansas for the summer and Kent stayed in Idaho, but we stayed together. It was the best decision of our lives. Being apart brought us so much closer together and made us realize how much we care about each other.

4/29/11 They Fell in Love – This is what was said via text, Listening to backstreet boys and looking at our pictures made me miss you soo much. Love you babe.  I had to say it:) have fun watching despicable me:) muah – kent We have been smitten with each other ever since.

8/22/11 He came to Kansas – After the semester was over for Kent, he came to my hometown of Manhattan, KS to see me and meet my family! Our first hug in the airport was so special and felt so real. We took a drive to the Kansas City Temple construction site and he told me how he was feeling about us and about marriage.
We spent the fall semester together at BYU-Idaho, and then Anna went home to Kansas for Christmas.

12/31/11 He popped the question & she said YES! – Coming off the plane in the Salt Lake City airport a little earlier than scheduled, I looked for Kent but could not find him. I waited for my bag and then turned around and saw that he was looking at the screen for my flight. I ran up to him and gave him a big hug. After the hug he pushed me back and showed me a sign he had made that said “Welcome Back Anna!” then he flipped it over and it said “KANSAS CITY TEMPLE BABE – I CAN’T WAIT!” Then He got on one knee, handed me flowers and said beautiful words about us being together forever, then he popped the question! And I said yes :)

6/16/12 For Time and All ETERNITY – Our Temple date is June 16th, 2012 in the Kansas City Temple. We couldn’t be happier!

We are SO EXCITED for our wedding day/to be married and it is so fun to be planning and seeing it all come together!!!

Already Found Him

Last week I was called as our ward's Family History Consultant! At first I was like, "freak. I don't know how to do this or know where to even start." But the secret is to just start, then you will get the hang of it and will realize how awesome it is. I am way excited for this calling. Basically our goal is to have everyone in the ward find one name and then take it to the temple. Today I went to the Family History Center here on Campus to find out more information about what I need to teach my Sunday School class. Basically it's a class all about learning why it's important, how to do it, and to start doing it. My dad has done a lot already and I plan to build off of his saved files. exciiiited.
I also went to new.familysearch.org just to check out my page and found this information...

already found one :)

Get on your lds account and start looking for relatives at familysearch.org!
And go to the temple! I need to start going more often...

The Trip home

My journey home begins tomorrow at 2am on a bus. I have a 5 hour layover, so I will most likely be blogging during that time, telling you about my adventures to the airport.

I made a picture list of what I want to do for Christmas using pinterest, of course. Here is what I am going to be doing in my spare time in Kansas (besides seeing and enjoying time with family):

I want to create one of these for muh-self

I also want to make one of these. I really like this style.

Saw this and I thought of things to do with the Pman

I HAVE THIS JACKET IN BLUE. Maybe if I wear it with my khaki pants and a white shirt?? They are all at home, so I will bring them back! :)

Fun bokeh

YES. for Santa.

Also fun Bokeh, I don't know why I haven't tried this yet!

If you want to follow me on pinterest, here is the link! http://pinterest.com/afreeby/

My family is going to pick me up from the Airport and then we are going to go see Christmas lights on the plaza in KC or somewhere else in KC and maybe even go see the temple!! :) I am so excited to see my family again!!!

Two Reasons

Two Reasons why I uploaded this picture.

1. I am looking at this in real life right now.
2. I am going to miss it.

(ps she found that sign with her brother one night while on break at home and brought it back to school)

Remember the first ward Christmas party we went to?? Well that was Kent's, and so tonight we went to mine!

They did the 12 days of Christmas for our ward - which was fun :)

This is Bishop Rossiter and our apartment. We will miss him (he was just released) Every Sunday after sacrament meeting, he stands up and says "We love you!" It's cute we even made him say it in a video to always remember it:

This is Sister Larsen. I just love the women of this Church and how sweet and kind they are. She is part of Relief Society one. woo!

This is Kent Buys. He is quite the stud with those fingers.

You like the tights? They're chevron and pretty sweet too.

I found this AWESOME site where you turn your BLOG into a BOOK. I am seriously thinking about doing that. here is the site: http://blog2print.sharedbook.com/blogworld/printmyblog/index.html
The only problem is the links and videos do not show up, but other than that it's really something neat.

sweeeeeet!
Have a GREAT weekend! I will miss my man who will be in Utah, but I will hopefully get schoolwork and studying DONE. 8 days.

Happy

For my final project for photo class I must have a theme. My theme is "What makes you happy" and basically it's just capturing the genuine smiles that you can't get by just taking a photograph, you have to interact with the people. I made a video to the music "wink and a smile" - just piano music. Maybe I'll post it lata. I still need 2 more pictures of 2 more smiles.
This is Kent's Mission President who lives in Sugar City (ps the devotional speaker last week was his daughter). He is explaining books to Kent, and I caught this one when he was explaining science fiction :)

These are our really good friends, David and Lauren. They had some reaction from family and friends when they came out of the Temple together. It was wonderful and you can't really tell but David is looking right at the camera and Lauren at him with awesome, real smiles on.

This is Caitlin, my visiting teacher and whom I visit teach as well. After our message in November I asked her what makes her happy, and she brought out her yukilayle (spell check). She sang the cutest song with a beautiful voice - it was amazing! Right when she started strumming, she gave me this smile.

This is LaKesha, my wonderful neighbor! She brought out her guitar, and guess what? She learned to play it and taught HERSELF! It was amazing! I tried to hold a guitar once and it didn't really work out. She sang "If I Die Young" ahh love that song.

This is LaKesha's Sister, Kira (and also my lovely neighbor) She was in the middle of making brownies as she explained why it makes her happy and how she makes them. She uses a mint frosting, and I'm sure they are beyond delicious! I like this cute laugh.

This is Katrina my fabulous roommate. I love her and her hair - it looks good ALL THE TIME. She loves music and was explaining her favorite bands.

Christine loves Twinkies. She was holding a twinkie and kept saying "this is so stupid" while Katrina helped me make her smile. It worked! ha

Michael came over to Katrina, Christine and I while we were taking Christine's picture in the parking lot. I asked him what makes him happy and after like 8 pictures of him at the piano, we finally got a good one. He looks happy :)

I needed a happy picture of Kent and asked him, "What makes you happy?" He said, "you" - so cute. So this is just a picture of him in a field looking at me I guess! I just love this smile and I think I'll miss those cute braces.

So happy. with a cat. :)

I love kitties

Look at how happy he is! I just took this at random after some pizza from 5 buck.

Biking in the winter cold hurts sometimes. and also looks funny sometimes.

Have a happy day!
