24 April 2012

wedding tid bits.

colors:
soft yellow. soft grey.

lemons. lemons. lemons.
chocolate fountains.

wedding dress rule #1:
go with your instincts. I almost signed my
name (life) to a dress and as I held the pen,
I broke down and cried. It wasn't the dress for me.

My sister is throwing me a bridal shower.

Kent will come 4 days before the wedding.

3 or 10 bridesmaids?
seriously, I can't decide.

date: 6/16/2012

my fiance is cute.
cuter than yours.

kansas city temple.

being in love is so, so great.
being engaged is so, so horrible.
you always hear that and it is always true.
I can't wait to always be with him.

it's only been 3 days since we have left each other and I feel like it's a struggle to keep the communication good. There is a time zone difference and our families are busy. only 46 more to go.

Last night was the first night I was comfortably able to sleep in my own bed! I basically live in a dark dungeon small room with little air that circulates (and there is usually a sweaty seven year old  plus a dog next to me) but with the window cracked, them gone and a fan right in my face I felt awesome all night.

It's hard to think about getting out of bed now and going on a run. The finac is making me feel guilty because he is going on a run.

I should at least get up.

3 day weekend!!!

5 minutes after we left to go to Utah for the weekend, we were pulled over for going to fast. Ha, good way to start the weekend! We eventually got there and had a wonderful time with the Buys' family. Lots of ice cream, movies and games :)

On Sunday Kent and I put together a binder of all of the letters we sent to each other April 2011 - August 2011 (while we were apart). It was SO FUN to look back on our little jokes and sweet words said to each other. We didn't really know each other well, but then did get to know each other through letter communication. I am so glad we did this. I recommend it.

I should have taken a final picture of the final book we made... but we basically filled the letters into clear sheets and put them in the flower binder that is in the corner of the last picture. It's huge because we sent each other so much paper!! It will be so fun to look back on when we are old farts.

Our wedding stuff is coming together! We officially have a reception place for Kansas and Utah! Now we just need to call the temple... (they don't have a phone number yet). haha

ps This morning videotaped a girl in my class who was sleeping. She was pretty funny, and it looks like she kinda knew... oh well :)

The Trip home

My journey home begins tomorrow at 2am on a bus. I have a 5 hour layover, so I will most likely be blogging during that time, telling you about my adventures to the airport.

I made a picture list of what I want to do for Christmas using pinterest, of course. Here is what I am going to be doing in my spare time in Kansas (besides seeing and enjoying time with family):

I want to create one of these for muh-self

I also want to make one of these. I really like this style.

Saw this and I thought of things to do with the Pman

I HAVE THIS JACKET IN BLUE. Maybe if I wear it with my khaki pants and a white shirt?? They are all at home, so I will bring them back! :)

Fun bokeh

YES. for Santa.

Also fun Bokeh, I don't know why I haven't tried this yet!

If you want to follow me on pinterest, here is the link! http://pinterest.com/afreeby/

My family is going to pick me up from the Airport and then we are going to go see Christmas lights on the plaza in KC or somewhere else in KC and maybe even go see the temple!! :) I am so excited to see my family again!!!

SO MANY PUPPIES

Kent and I had a fabulous weekend in Boise! We stayed with two of his mission companions at one of their homes.... where there were 18  puppies!! They breed schnauzers and at the moment they had 3 litters :) I was in heaven.

Kent is allergic to dogs, but he still loves them :)

We took a trip to Cabella's and enjoyed looking at things that were wayyy to expensive for us.

So we took pictures with the bears

rawr.

These are all the adults (there are 9)

The little one by my right hand was my favorite, he looked like your typical schnauzer.
 Yeah, he's my favorite.
While everyone else was getting ready to get into the hot tub, I still played with the dogs.
Thank you for all the pictures Kent...
These were the mamas, they needed some love too
 HOT TUB!!

WITH A MOVIE!! And floating popcorn bowls.
Until it started raining so we went inside...
...and  I played with the dogs for a while while we waited to leave.
The owner let me bottle feed one of the sick puppies named Scarlett who had pneumonia

It makes me miss Kiva a little bit...

But I will see her and my family soon because I leave for home in 1 month and 2 days! This semester has gone by so fast.

Currently I am:
Writing a research paper on Child-Directed Marketing
Having back pain
Sitting in my Bed
Missing Kent who is at work
Thinking of the future...
undecided on my major
but, LOVING MY LIFE

I have so much to be grateful for.

Have a wonderful day!

I walked into the Men's Bathroom

My contacts were bothering me all morning. I went to get a drink from the drinking fountain while on my way to the bathroom to throw the contacts away. I walked in and thought, "Oh, they re-arranged," and then I saw the urinals. I was so embarrassed as I opened the door to exit the fun room I discovered with all those people there, probably watching (probably not, but I like to think it's all about me sometimes.. ha). Quickly, I shuffled into the women's and laughed at myself. Why did they have to put the men's so conveniently close to the fountains?? Luckily no one was in there :)

HI AGAIN!!!! How have you been? It's been a long, but good 2 weeks. So much has happened (p.s. the bathroom thing happened today). The biggest thing I learned from the anti-media challenge was that facebook and pinterest are not THAT important. I get more done without them! They don't really matter! Anyways it gives me a headache waiting for them to load. LIMITED use is best with those. Granted, pintrest has sooo many cool ideas. It's fun once in a while. So grateful for the challenge my teacher gave us. Blogging on the other hand... I miss being able to talk to myself and post funny pictures to look back at. And it's basically my awesome journal that you get to read. So yeah, I will definitely keep blogging.

I had an epifiany (check that) while I was alone, and away from this blog. Every month I am going to post the pictures I take with my phone and have a phone post! :) BRILLIANT because I never use the pictures I take on my phone, so what's the point of a camera phone?

Also - please tell me your thoughts on "is it better to receive a gift card, or the cash?" I personally feel that the cash would be more useful and easier, but Kent prefers the gift card and believes if you get an ice cream gift card, it's a reason to go get a treat! hmmmm....

Okay, so do you want that phone photos post now? okay! :D

This is my messy room. I have this awesome roommate named Christine and one day I almost got as messy as her, but not quite. I'm not usually this messy, so I had to take a picture of it. ps we have like 8 posters in our room.

When we first started "hanging out" as fhe friends, Kent introduced me to the SHARK GAME!
Basically you eat and eat and eat things and get bigger and it gets harder to avoid bombs and stuff. Kent gets really into it and he doesn't even notice when I take a picture of him.

Yeah, it's pretty cool.

This is something that I think about every time I wash my hands here! Their sinks are crazy - okay so it takes me forever to remember how to get the hot water and how to get the cold water. The arrows point  DOWN. I  have to re-train myself every semester, and I think about it all the time. It's one of those weird things.

This is our little joke. When people order from this place, you can either have the nice ladies who work there grab it from the inside, or you can just open "the trunk". It's hilarious because it's like the size of a van trunk and when Kent first described it to me I couldn't believe him, but now I do and it's fun to watch :)

KENT GOT A JOB!!! I think I already told you, but he goes to taco bell a lot because it's next door and his favorite. This was his sauce packet. and his little fingers.
You get a video too! Kent shimmying - not sure if it works...

The first day with his new bandages :)

Kent and the Trunk (he told me he meant to smile like that).

I have tons more on my phone, but my phone is dead. I think I will limit it to 10 phone photos a month. woo! I'm so excited!!

While I was away I also wrote down awkward/awesome things that happened to me all week. I will post them in another post. There are too many good ones, so it needs it's own post.

Kent and I go to our friends, David and Lauren's wedding tomorrow! 11/11/11!!!! They are cool people and so fun. I will tell you all about it next week! Hopefully I will have internet in Boise..

Stay tuned for the awkward awesome 2 weeks I had :)
Love,
