Fish are friends

Here is Gil.

He lives with me in Apartment 215. And let me tell you, he's got an attitude. 

This is what his schedual consists of: 

8am Morning feed - very moody and wants food right away.

Afternoon naps on bottom and side of tank.

Swimming up and down thruogh the leaves with aggression. (He doesn't really like the fake plant I have so graciously provided him).

More napping.

More anger issues.

And when I come home? He's pouty. All he wants is food.

9pm Angry Evening feed. I can see how he's been waiting all day for the joy of 4 little pebbles, but seriously, he needs an attitude change. 

Does anyone know how to train a fish? Good Movie.

Oh well. For now he will be my little spoiled aqua pet I love to look at.

(Studying reeeeaaallly pays off)

I took a brisk walk to the testing center this morning. The time stamp on my bubble sheet told me I was promptly there by 9:31 a.m. At the end of my test I took a look at the clock. 1:07p.m. I HAD BEEN IN THERE FOR 3 HOURS AND 36 MIN. But I guess it doesn't really matter because I got a 97% on my test! Not bad little grasshopper. 

p.s. I drew this really awesomely detailed shark eating a bird on my math scratch paper. I wish I could've kept it. It looked something like this (except it was going for a bird):

I also just received a text message telling me I have a package waiting for me at home! I love my family sooo much. 70 days until I am home!

Weekend

The weekend is HERE! I still have a bunch to do, but it's nice to think about relaxing. Remember that bad day I was having? Well, it was all worth it. I sat down with my math teacher explaining why I think I might have failed the test, and he understood. He said if I retook it, he wouldn't be surprised if I got a 100%. So that's just what I did :)

I'm pretty sure I am improving on my musicianship skillz, which is great. I am focused while I play and my sound is improving each day. I can't wait to play my French horn for my dad when I get home!

I love to see the Temple

(Rexburg Idaho Temple)

We have the blessing of having a temple SO CLOSE. This beautiful structure is literally less than a mile away from where I live.

I completely agree with the peace that it brings. I am so much more at peace and I continue to have the spirit with me througout my day. SUCH a better day compared to the previous post. 

I took a much needed nap today. It consisted of me coming home from Book of Mormon, taking my shoes off, but my socks were still warm (don't you love that feeling?), and curling up with some crackers and string cheese. I kept my coat on, just to make sure I would be extra toasty.

I am looking forward to the weekend! So much work to do and verry little time.

Mon Journal

(This is my Jill Bliss journal)

Today in English we learned that the first four letters of the word "journal" in French mean "day". A journal is a "daily account". I'm not sure what I would do without my journal. Especially my Jill Bliss journal. It's perfect for my silly and curly writing. I LOVE it. When you write in your journal, what do you write, and how often do you write? For me it is everyday, but I need to improve how to and what I include. President Eyring has spoken on the importance of recording how you have seen the hand of the Lord in your day. Once you get thinking about the blessings you have received that day, you are humbled to know that the Lord loves you. It's a neat feeling and experience. I just wish I did it every time. 

In English class we also talked about a paper that is due next week. It is a personal narrative, and I just don't know what to write about! Any ideas?

Oh yeah, I also failed my math test today. What a confidence boost to finish the other million things on my list.  It's alright though, I'll get over it.

Improvements

For those of you who do not know, I attend Brigham Young University - Idaho (also known as BYU-I). We are a Latter-Day Saint School with people from EVERYWHERE. It's really a neat place. 

Today and every Tuesday we have a Devotional where a speaker comes to our school and shares a message with us. Todays message was from Elder Rasband. He spoke on the importance of improving and finding the talents and abilities we have been blessed with. What are yours? One of my goals for the year is to become a better (outgoing) person. I have the tendency to keep to myself, but really I should be putting myself out there. I'll work on it if you work on yours, okay?

The BEST

I had the BEST Chicken Caesar salad today. I've never really liked onions on my salad. But now I do. It's funny how your taste buds change through experience after a couple of years.

I also saw a squirrel hanging for his life on the side of a building. It looked so helpless, and I couldn't do anything for him.. except giggle a little bit.

That squirrel made me appreciate that silly moment. Thanks, little guy.
