I need to blog more

I just realized that I haven't blogged in foreverr. I started that little "daily calendar" of write one little thing about your day, and then you are done and flip it to the next one... kinda thing and I have been neglecting this little bloggy. I also do that Kent&Anna tumblr blog, and that's on my mind most of the time. Also wedding plans have attacked, I'm in school and work is busier than it's ever been of taking pictures of very specific random things for the new BYU-I website. I'll try to post some of my work (when I can find it on the site). I have been journaling which is a plus - usually it's a sacrifice between the blog or the journal. Journal has been wining.
Oh my gosh. Kent and I watched "The Last Song" and I cried like a wildfire. The little boy reminded me of my little brother, and the dad wrote music!! Like my dad!! It was so sad and made me realize that I should not take the relationships I have now and the ones I have later for granted. People are put in our lives for a reason and I need to always remember how blessed I am to live here, in this country at this moment and go to this amazing university with my fiance who oh-so loves me and shows it everyday. I have been so incredibly blessed to have the support I have and the family that surrounds me everyday. Life is awesome. I never knew Miley Cyrus would totally change my thoughts to really happy ones.
This was our date on MLK day - we made a paper chain to count down the days until Valentines day (Kent thought it was in April). Each link on the chain says something we need to do for that day. Here are a few examples:
-listen to each other's heartbeats
-call our parents
-piggy back down and back starting from my apartment to the end of the hall
-staring contest... GO!
and those are the handprints we made then wrote on with sharpie to opposite parents, telling them that we are so grateful for their love and support - then we said "we expect you to hang these on the fridge, like old times" (hang our art work - like we are kids) haha and they did.
Then we made hotdog/whateverisinmyfridgeandcupboard castles. We had 10 minutes to create the magical place and then it was our dinner :) After dinner we made "little dippers" which are like homemade take 5's.

I love pinterest. This is basically where all my ideas came from. (I came up with the dinner part and the chain).
Things are going super well, and we couldn't be happier! :)
Have a great week - if I don't talk to you before then...

ikea

Ever since I have ever heard about ikea, I knew they sold food. When I told Kent this exciting news, he wouldn't believe me! We decided we would go someday to find out the truth. Low and behold - they sold food and even had a cafeteria! It was great. After finding our way through the maze around the store, we sat down to some pasta for dinner :) It was the first time for both of us to go to an ikea. We had so much fun trying things out and talking about our future home! Such an exciting time of life for us!

FOOOD. Our whole meal (2 pasta things) was only $2.14!!! It was 99 cent pasta Monday!
And a cheesy picture of my ring - I usually hate these kinds of pictures, but I couldn't resist! It's different when it's on your finger.

Pinkie's up! ps fingers are doing MUCH better - they will be fully healed soon!

Made it back to the burg (Rexburg) and met up with our married friends David and Lauren and talked fun plans for this semester. Lots going on, but hopefully little stress. Let the wedding planning begin!

One last hooo-rah

This is not a final post of any sort, but I just feel like I’m giving school my final effort and my last hoorah for the semester. There are finals and quizzes and projects that require a lot of my time. So does my job. But I haven’t been as stressed as past semesters, which is crazy because Kent is here too! :) Someone once told me Kent is probably equivalent to 20 credits, but those are 20 credits of fun and enjoyable times and memories made together. It has really been a wonderful semester for the two of us and we have grown so much. And I wouldn’t trade those credits for anything!

ice cream!
Last night we tried to surprise each other. I showed up at his interview while he showed up at the end of my class (both at 4:45). We must have taken different routes because we texted each other asking where the other one was and we had switched places. My class got out early so I ran to Zion’s Bank – where he had an interview, and he ran to my photo class (but I got out early). He ran back to Zion’s while I cashed some checks and then we changed something in Kent’s account and traveled over to Jamba Juice in the 1 degree weather. WE GOT THE WHITE GUMMY WITH RASPBERRY! We really enjoyed it because of the taste and also because Kent had a gift card and it was free. While walking back to get ready for Kent’s Christmas ward party, we froze. It was the coldest day of my life. My nose and mouth felt like someone was pinching them. Kent’s ears were falling off from the chills. We had to take 2 breaks on the way home – one at Jimmy Johns, and one in the corner of the stairs to my apartment complex. It was probably the coldest I’d ever been.

We got through it and made it home, changed and went to a Christmas party for Kent’s ward from Church! The food was DELICIOUS there was Turkey, mashed potatoes, rolls, stuffing, corn, cake and (Kent’s personal favorite) Cranberry sauce! Mmmmmmm I could hear my tummy saying “thank you” – due to a major shift from macaroni, ramen, and cereal.
Helping clean up

We were dropped off at my apartment and walked to the Library (still chilly). I did one assignment while kent looked at the free rental DVD’s. We chose this cute Christmas love story with these old people and how they were so different, but fell in love. At the end they started kissing. It was kind of weird and we were like “ehhhhww.” but then we decided we are going to kiss when we are old too. Ha

I am home again in 11 days - I am SO excited to see my family again!! It's going to be tough because I'll miss my man. a lot. But I can't wait to be in my own home again with those wonderful people. LOVE YOU!!

This is me with finals.. I know I will miss this someday.

Have a great Tuesday!

Masculine

For my photography class, we have an awesome assignment due regarding "portraits". I needed to take a "masculine" pose of my sweetie, and so we had a lot of fun taking pictures :)
Kent Buys came up with this pose all by himself  - so proud.

"okay show me your cute face, Kent"

Playground picture trying not to slip!

This is the winner for masculine powerful stance and picture! ha he asked me if he should flex and I said, "oohhh yes."
Then he took a couple pictures of me and told me to make a kissy face :)
 Timers on cameras ruuule

Then we went back home and took some pictures of peanut the cat

Group shot! All looking at the camera :)

My sweetheart showed up with flowers as he picked me up from class yesterday! We traveled to the gym together and worked our muscles for a much needed workout after Thanksgiving. We are grateful for the gym! Going there again today.

Wedding

Twin Falls Idaho Temple

We had SUCH a wonderful and fun weekend! Our journey began with a drive to Twin Falls Idaho where David and Lauren were sealed for time and all eternity in the Twin Falls LDS temple. They got married on 11.11.11 and it was such a beautiful day.

I wasn't able to go to the sealing, so I waited outside and took some pictures :)

It was such a happy day! They looked so happy and beautiful together!

David and Kent were mission companions and roommates
Lauren and I now friends because of them!
 Her family was so cute

Congratulations you two! We are so happy for your future together :)

Bad News

right after it happened - trying to poke a needle into the nail
We think they are broken. It just seems to be getting worse and he cannot move the tops of his dedos. Kent texted me this morning about how they look and that they are just getting worse and continue to hurt. We will see what happens after the doctor today... It's so scary and I'm so mad at myself for not pushing him to go to the doctor. We thought we could handle it by ourselves, but we have been humbled to ask for more help. Accidents are a scary thing and I hope I can handle them in the future! Those days are so crazy. He's so cute though: Since it's the two middle fingers, he told me over the phone, "It's easy to do the I love you sign now. I'm doing it to you over the phone."

My photojob:

Photos for BYU-Idaho. This job is harder than I thought it would be. I have to find models and work with a lot of people and take the pictures they want. Some are very specific, but I do enjoy it. Not so much the late night editing though.... (went to bed at 2:39am - I usually shoot for 12am)

Devotional yesterday was wonderful! It talked about not living in worry of the future, but to recommit your testimony of the Savior each day and focus working for answers in your prayers. Then the answers will come about what to do for the future through the Spirit. ahhh I loved it. It was perfect for my situation now.
Last night Kent and I went to the Cocoa Bean with Morgan and Randy!! Then we did a late night taco bell run - a usual for us. It was good to have us all together again.

I will keep you updated with Kenteth's hand. Poor Babey:*

Sometimes I wish

Sometimes I want to be different and discover more to life, and TRAVEL and do good in the world. But then I get overwhelmed with all these ideas and give up that thought, until it comes back again. I just need to start, and start small. Then who knows? Maybe it will turn into something big.

Expressions of Love

This is so cute! I love Richard G. Scott's words, expression of love, and how he speaks of his wife. ah!

"Marriage is perhaps the most vital of all the decisions and has the most far-reaching effects, for it has to do not only with immediate happiness, but eternal joys as well." -Spencer W. Kimball

Marriage is ordained of God
-You must bring the Spirit into the home
-Don't make fun of one another
-Don't smother one with restrictions
-Don't shut someone else out
-Forgive, say sorry
-Pray for a strong marriage
D&C 49:16-17
D&C121:41-42

Relationships take Time, Communication, and Service
Time:
Make time for each other.
Support brothers and sisters at their games, events, or performances.
Eat as many meals together as you can.
Make FHE a priority.
Dedicate a day per week to doing something as a family.
Cook, clean, pray, play, and laugh together
Be spontaneous. When you find time toether you hadn't planned on, do something fun.

Communication:
Make time to talk. Have family councils and parent-child interviews. (greater love and patience for children, take more care in raising children)
Create common goals
Study scriptures together. This can start great conversations.
Watching TVor movies together can be enjoyable, but it's a poor substitute for interaction.
When there is friction, it may help if someone who isn't involved acts as peacemaker.

Service:
Wen one person has a problem, everyone shares it
Find ways to serve each other, especially anyone you're having problems with.
Find ways the family can serve together
"For how knoweth a man the master whom he has not served, and who is a stranger unto him, and is far from the thoughts and intents of his heart?" (Mosiah 5:13)
